Fertility

Over the years, The Centre of Integrative Natural Medicine has treated numerous cases of infertility.

Infertility is a deeply personal and a potentially devastating subject for thousands.  The inability to conceive and/or give birth to a child may challenge a person’s self-image, sexuality and hopes for the future.  Even though many women and men have been deemed infertile by their general health practitioner, very few of these men and women are in actuality infertile.  Most of these men and women are merely imbalanced.  It is because of this imbalance found in so many people that Sherman Shu-Seng Lai, a world renowned traditional Chinese medical and acupuncture practitioner, and his research team, developed the Herbal Baby Program® in order to assist men and women around the world in giving birth to their very own naturally conceived, herbal baby.

Traditional Chinese Medical Theory on Infertility

In traditional Chinese medicine, there is ample knowledge and experience with treating infertility through the use of acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, and modern nutritional science, while also incorporating diet, lifestyle and stress management.  The main focus in traditional Chinese medicine is to balance and harmonize the internal organs.  Internal organs cannot function properly when they are out of balance or if they are lacking certain nutrients.  Many years of abusing and mistreating our bodies with alcohol, cigarettes, stress, oral contraceptives and/or a poor diet, can easily result in a case of infertility.  However, by simply changing our diet, lifestyle and incorporating a combination of acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbs and high-quality nutritional supplements, we can make miracles happen.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine treats infertility by strengthening and regulating the body’s internal organs.  The following is a list of different methods using TCM theory that can help enhance a person’s fertility; regulating hormones, reducing stress and aiding in relaxation, improving blood flow, strengthening the entire body as a whole, decreasing the chance of reoccurring miscarriages, strengthening the immune system, improving sperm count, motility and morphology as well as strengthening the digestive system

Acupuncture

While Chinese herbal medicine treats conditions by altering the body’s internal energies, acupuncture works to balance the body’s energies through an external force.  Using acupuncture to enhance a person’s fertility has been used as a treatment for thousands of years.  Traditional acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the surface of the skin.  This needle then stimulates your body’s natural healing mechanism, helping to restore physical, mental and spiritual balance.  Traditional Chinese explanations use the concept of restoring the normal flow of vital energy which circulates along special channels throughout the body, known as meridians.  Modern research has shown that acupuncture elicits a complex set of responses in the peripheral, central and autonomic nervous systems, including the release of chemicals and hormones.
